这也是萧华NBA总裁生涯第一次在选秀大会上喊出中国球员的名字，他于2014年接替斯特恩担任联盟总裁，此后没有还没有中国球员在首轮被选中（总裁只负责给首轮的选秀报幕），直到今天的杨瀚森。
